Mr Jones was selling his house and during the valuation survey for the buyers, cracking was noted on the junction of the main house and the rear extension. Mr Jones lost the buyer and was advised to contact a structural engineer to carry out a structural survey of the property.
Following the structural survey Mr Jones was advised that the cracking was possible subsidence and a period of monitoring for 6 months was required to confirm the extent of the movement. Subsidence Monitoring carried out a 12-month monitoring period, which confirmed season movement of the rear extension.
The structural engineer Mr Jones employed is now instructing further investigations based on findings of our monitoring reports.
