A crack had appeared in Mr and Mrs Smith’s property and they did not want to involve their insurance at this stage. Following a quick call to Subsidence Monitoring we arranged to install Demec monitoring studs over the crack using methods set out in the BRE Digest 343.

Base readings were recorded at day 1 and then we returned every 4 weeks for a 6-month period. This give Mr and Mrs Smith the data and confidence not to claim on their insurance policy, as the crack showed stability over the monitoring period, the crack was then filled and redecorated.
