Crack Monitoring

Crack Monitoring is the precise measurement of a crack using a set of digital callipers measuring to a one hundredth of a millimetre.  We affix stainless steel studs using strong glue (so none intrusive easily removed) and measure the distance between the centre holes of the studs. This data is recorded and repeated periodically to confirm if a crack is opening or closing.

All of our surveys are carried out using fully trained experienced surveyors using Leica total station 1” instruments. Over the past 10 years we have monitored hundreds of properties undergoing deep excavations for basements or other high impact construction works using 3-dimensional retro target monitoring.
